Based on the Lokayukta report, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh has suspended the two officers.

The Lokayukta police registered the FIR against sub-inspectors Bhyrappa, from the Subramanyapura police station, and Murali Mohan, from the Kengeri police station, on June 26 following a complaint filed by Shivakumar, a resident of Prashanth Nagar.

Shivakumar, a real-estate professional, had approached Bhyrappa, the investigating officer in a case related to a site belonging to his relative Puttaswamy.

Puttaswamy had filed a complaint against Shivakumar alleging fraudulent sale of the site, but later agreed to withdraw the case, citing a misunderstanding.

Shivakumar alleged that the two PSIs demanded a bribe of Rs 10 lakh to help him resolve the issue, with Mohan insisting on an advance payment of Rs 5 lakh.
