Lokayukta raids eight government officers, including senior bureaucrat, in Karnataka

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Lokayukta police on Wednesday launched simultaneous surprise raids against eight government officials, including a senior bureaucrat.

The raids are underway in Bengaluru, Koppal, Kalburgi, Tumakuru, Mysuru and Madikeri, in connection with disproportionate assets (DA) cases, officials said.

Among the raided is Vasanthi Amar BV, IAS, who is currently the Special Deputy Commissioner for Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE).

It is important to note that Vasanthi was recently booked by the Halasuru Gate police in Bengaluru for allegedly passing an illegal land order in her previous posting.
