Bengaluru: Lokayukta officials conducted simultaneous raids on Thursday at 12 locations, targeting BBMP and Assistant Revenue Officer (ARO) offices following numerous public complaints.
Twelve teams, comprising judicial and police officers, carried out surprise inspections across the city.
Upa Lokayukta KN Phaneendra personally inspected four offices in East Bengaluru.
A Lokayukta source said the raids were an extension of surprise checks conducted last week. They were prompted by citizen complaints regarding delays in issuing e-khata certificates and inaction against builders engaging in illegal construction activities.
The Upa Lokayukta visited ARO offices in Gandhinagar, Govindarajnagar, and Vasanthnagar, as well as the executive engineer’s office in Shivajinagar.
During the inspections, several instances of irregularities and dereliction of duty were revealed. The findings are expected to lead to further action against the officials involved.
