The problems remained unresolved even after several rounds of negotiations with the State government, the FKSLOAA said in a statement issued here. This statement comes in the wake of transport department authorities in Mangalore and Udupi imposing ban on movement of overloaded lorries including iron ore carrying vehicles following severe damage caused to roads and highways.

The Federation said there were instances of fines to the tune of Rs one lakh being imposed on truckers. “We expect Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to call us for talks and find a solution to our problems, failing which we would be constrained to go on indefinite state-wide stir,” said G R Shanmugappa, president of the Federation.
