The accused, Umesh alias Raj (27), a resident of Devanahalli, had allegedly targeted locked houses in apartments after diverting the watchman’s attention. He would then steal valuables from the houses, the police said.
The accused, a habitual offender, had earlier been jailed for several thefts reported in different police station limits. With his arrest, the police said they had solved two theft cases reported in HAL and Bharathinagar police station limits.
