Man assaulted; cash, car stolen

The victim Ravikanth was driving towards K G Halli, when the suspects accosted him near Nagawara bridge and introduced themselves as sales tax officers.

They asked him to show documents related to the vehicle. Pretending to verify the documents they told Ravikanth that the documents were fake.

The three men got into his car and asked him to drive towards their office in Hosakote. When the car approached Sollemadapura, the suspects threw chilli powder into Ravikanth’s eyes and stole

Rs 6,000 from him. They later threw him out of the car and drove it away, police said.

Rs 80,000 cash and a laptop from a car and fled on Wednesday, in Basavanagudi. The victim, Nagesh, had parked his car near Gandhi Bhavan and walked a few steps.

However, he was shocked to see his cash and laptop missing on his return, the police said.
