A 21-year-old woman was attacked by an unidentified man on Wednesday night while she was pushing her scooter in Yelahanka New Town.
The incident took place at around 10.15 pm near the Self Financed Society (SFS) 208 Colony when the woman was heading to her home, the police said.
According to the police, the suspect who followed the victim for some time, all of a sudden pulled her top in an attempt to disrobe her.
The shocked victim raised an alarm, which prompted the man to flee from the spot into a nearby dark street.
The distressed victim then telephoned her parents. Her father rushed to the spot and the following day lodged a complaint with the police.
The police have registered a sexual harassment case under the IPC section 354(B)–assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe. The police are analysing the CCTV footage from nearby junctions to identify the culprit. Further investigations are underway.
