Bengaluru: A 55-year-old man created a ruckus outside Bangalore Club on Lavelle Road in central Bengaluru, police said on Wednesday.
According to the police, the man, who is employed with a private firm, stated that he had visited the prestigious club with his family on February 1 for food and drinks, but had forgotten his mobile phone on the premises.
When he returned the next day around 2 pm to retrieve the phone, he was allegedly denied entry. Police said the man, who was intoxicated at the time, began arguing with security personnel and, during the altercation, removed his clothes.
The FIR states that a security guard allegedly assaulted him with a cane during the argument. The man, naked and agitated, then attempted to stop a red car that was exiting the club premises. While trying to drive away, the driver allegedly ran into him, resulting in injuries.
A video of the incident later went viral on social media.
“We have registered two separate cases, including one against the individual, said to be mentally disturbed, for creating a public nuisance. Further investigation is under way,” a senior police officer told DH.
