A 48-year-old man is suspected to have died after an unidentified vehicle ran him over near a flyover on Ballari Road, north Bengaluru, on Monday night.
The police identified the deceased as Anjaneya, a casual labourer who worked with the Horticulture Department and a resident of Sahakaranagar. In a complaint to the police, his wife Susheela stated that her husband was killed on the spot after the vehicle knocked him down.
The incident occurred around 9.15 pm when he was walking back home.
The police said the man died of serious head injuries but it was unclear if he was killed in a road accident or had collapsed.
They are looking into the footage of CCTV cameras installed in the locality.
