A 32-year-old man fatally stabbed his brother-in-law during a drunken brawl at Pantharapalya on Mysuru Road, west Bengaluru.  Manikanta, who works as a labourer at KR Market, quarrelled with his wife’s brother, Premraj, over a trivial matter on Friday night. Since both the men were drunk, the quarrel escalated and Premraj ended up stabbing Manikanta. However, they both went to sleep outside the house as usual.

In the morning, Manikanta was found lying motionless and having a deep gash, which had caused excessive bleeding. Neither man had noticed it the previous night because of their drunken stupor, according to police. The Byatarayanapura police have registered a case of murder. Manikanta, his wife and their three children had moved from Tamil Nadu to Bengaluru and were living with Premraj. Both of them were working as labourers. They would get drunk each night and quarrel over petty issues.
