The Cybercrime police have arrested a 31-year-old software engineer who uploaded his estranged wife's pictures and profile on matrimonial and dating websites in order to take revenge onher.
The police have arrested Harshavardhan Bhat, a senior software engineer working with a reputed IT firm in Electronics City.
According to the police, Bhat and his wife had approached a family court for divorce and the case is pending.
Meanwhile, Bhat wanted to take revenge and uploaded his wife's profile on various websites, after which she started getting calls from several men. The Cybercrime police have seized Bhat's laptop and mobile phone and he has been booked under various sections of the IT Act.
