A three-year-old girl playing on the road outside a building site in Hesaraghatta, north Bengaluru, was killed when a car driver ran her over while backing up on Friday morning.
Around 10.30 am, Kavita was busy playing while her parents, who are construction labourers from Yadgir, were working at the building site. A man driving his car backwards failed to see Kavita and ran over her.
Drawn by the girl’s cries, her parents and other labourers took her to hospital but it was too late. The Jalahalli traffic police rushed to the spot and seized the car after arresting the driver.
