Man robbed of scooter, foreign currency

Javed (40), a foreign exchange dealer, was robbed of his scooter and foreign currency worth Rs 8.5 lakh on Tuesday night.

A resident of Anepalya, Javed was returning home after closing the day’s business at his shop on Church Street, when he was followed by three men on a bike.

Javed lost his balance and fell down when the men hit his scooter from behind. On the pretext of helping him, the three rushed towards Javed. While two of them pushed Javed around, the third person took his scooter away. 

The other two fled the scene on their bike, leaving Javed distraught. Javed had kept Rs 8.5 lakh, the day’s earnings, in the scooter. He has lodged a complaint of robbery with the
