Bengaluru: A video of a man setting a relative's house on fire in Viveknagar recently went viral on social media on Friday.
The incident took place on June 1 around 5.20 pm, a police official from Viveknagar said. No casualties were reported.
The suspects, siblings Subramani and Parvati, planned to set their cousin Satish Kumar's house on fire over a loan dispute. Parvati's daughter Mahalakshmi was also involved in the plan. An FIR has been filed by Kumar. All three suspects are currently absconding.
"Parvati had taken a loan of Rs 5 lakh from Kumar's mother during her daughter's wedding. After the wedding, when Parvati was asked to return the money, things turned ugly. Parvati, unwilling to repay the money, roped in her brother to commit arson in a fit of rage," the official said.
