Medical seats: IMA seeks priority for Kannadigas

 The Karnataka chapter of the Indian Medical Association has sought that 70% of medical and dental seats in private and deemed university-affiliated colleges in the state be reserved for domicile Kannadigas.

The Indian Medical Association (IMA), in a press release, has said that these seats and the remaining 30% seats with private managements should be filled on the basis of National Eligibility and Entrance Test ranks through centralised counselling.

It has also sought that preference should be given to NRI Kannadigas while filling
the seats under 15% NRI quota.
