A day after a woman was gang-raped by security guards at Cubbon Park in the City, Home Minister G Parameshwara on Thursday said directions had been issued to the police to obtain all information about security arrangements in the park.

Terming the incident unfortunate, he told media-persons that the police had been directed to take steps to bring the culprits to book at the earliest.

He said a case had been registered and two security guards had been already arrested in connection with the sexual assault.

A free and fair investigation will be conducted into the incident, he said. He said the State police chief had been asked to create a database of all private security guards in Bengaluru.

They should have information on private security agencies and their employees. The database will come in handy for the investigators, he added.
