A 35-year-old person was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants at his residence on 17th Main Road, in Banashankari, on Wednesday morning.

According to police, the victim has been identified as Kiran Kumar. He was living along with his wife and brother-in-law and working as a printing contractor. He was also into money lending.

On Wednesday, at around 8.45 am, a few unidentified miscreants barged into the house and hacked Kumar to death with machete and daggers and fled the spot, police said.

A senior police officer said it is a tricky incident because Kumar’s wife and brother-in-law, who were inside the house at the time of the incident, do not know how many people hacked him nor are they giving details about persons who killed him.

The wife said she was taking bath and the brother-in-law said he was asleep when the incident happened. Only when the wife emerged out of the bathroom, she found her husband lying in a pool of blood.

‘Something fishy’

“There is something strange about the incident. We are waiting for the final rites to be completed. We will question the family thereafter, the officer added.  A case has been been registered and investigation is on.
