'Missing' 16-year-old girl traced to Mumbai

A first-year PU student at Jyoti Nivas College in Koramangala, who was suspected to have been kidnapped, was traced in Mumbai and brought back to the City by a police team on Sunday night.

According to police, 16-year-old Shaikh Jabeena had gone to Mumbai on her own and was not kidnapped as suspected. She is said to have told the police that as she had gone to Mumbai as her parents used to frequently admonish her for even “minor reasons.” 

The girl, who stays at a paying guest facility in Ejipura, had not answered her father’s phone calls on Friday. Later, her mobile phone was switched off. Subsequently, her father had lodged a missing complaint at the Koramangala police station.
