Moderate rainfall lashes city; two cars damaged in tree fall

Moderate showers lashed the city on Sunday evening, causing waterlogging and traffic snarls in parts of the central business district.

Waterlogging was reported in many parts of the city including MG Road, JP Nagar, Malleswaram, Nelamangala, Majestic, Yeshwantpur, Koramangala, Jayanagar, Dasarahalli, Nagasandra, HSR Layout and Vijayanagara among others.

Two cars were damaged when branches of a tree fell on them in Gandhinagar. A tree was uprooted on Kasturba Road.

The city received 28.0 mm of rainfall while HAL airport recorded 5.7 mm. The maximum temperature recorded was 28.4 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 21.3 in the city.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the city will continue to receive moderate rainfall, along with a spell or two thundershowers, over the next two to three days.
