Narayanamma (58) has been arrested for killing her daughter Saraswathi (30). The family was from Andhra Pradesh and had been living in Bangalore for the last ten years. The family owned a few houses and had rented out some. Saraswathi and her husband were living in one of them.

Saraswathi was married to Narayanamma's brother Jayaramulu. Since Jayaramulu was a small time worker and an alcoholic, Saraswathi was always cribbing and accusing the mother of ruining her life.

Of late, Saraswathi was allegedly neglecting the family, behaving rudely and returning home late. Saraswathi and Jayaramulu had a tiff on Wednesday night on the same issue.

Fed up of her daughter's attitude, Narayanamma intervened and advised her to take care of the family, behave herself and respect her husband. Following a heated argument, Saraswathi pushed her mother. Enraged over the turn of events, Narayanamma got hold of a club and hit Saraswathi.
Saraswathi was the eldest among the four children of Narayanamma.
