NCC cadets learnt the what and how of military operations during a special lecture and demonstration on ‘Section Battle Drill’ organised by 1 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Bengaluru, at the Jalahalli East Air Force station on October 29.

The distance of the final 200 meters to the enemy objective is called baptism by fire for a section commander leading the operation. The aim of this demo was to demonstrate to the cadets the fire and move tactics, field signals and battle drills used by the field section during an operation against the enemy installation.

The demo gave the cadets an opportunity to learn about on-ground constraints and the need for meticulous planning for a successful operation. The demo team was trained under Major Regil Raj Abraham, Sub Maj GK Rana and instructor team of 1 Karnataka Battalion.
