Bengaluru: A woman from Nepal was arrested after she landed at the Bengaluru airport and produced an Indian voter ID, officials said.
Rekha arrived at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) around 5 pm on July 10 and cleared immigration by presenting an Indian voter ID card. When asked for additional documents, she produced a Nepalese national identity card.
Questioned about the Indian document, she claimed it had been issued by gram panchayat officials at Hunasamaranahalli in northern Bengaluru, where she works as a housemaid.
The international airport police have registered an FIR and are investigating how she procured the voter ID.
