The nursery section at Vibgyor High in Marathalli resumed classes on Friday after a gap of more than two weeks after it was shut over rape of a minor girl.

With this, all the classes - nursery to class 10 - at the school have resumed. Classes 5 to 10 started functioning on July 28 and classes 1 to 4 started on July 30.

On Friday, 2,200 out of 2,981 students attended classes, according to S M Ramesh, block education officer (BEO), South range - 1. When asked about the rest of the 781 students and instances of a number of parents pulling out their wards from the school, Ramesh said he had not heard of any issuance of transfer certificates from the school.
“Parents may be thinking about sending their children to school gradually,” he said.


Of the 775 students studying in the nursery section, as many as 450 attended classes.
Out of 1,653 students between classes 1 to 4, as many as 1,257 students attended classes. Between class 8 to class 10, the attendance was 127 out of a total of 138.
