Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police have registered a case against an unidentified man for allegedly offering drinks to a woman and misbehaving with her at a popular resto bar in Kadubeesanahalli, east Bengaluru.
The incident occurred around 10 pm.
According to the police, the man repeatedly offered a drink to the woman despite her refusal, prompting her to raise an alarm. Bouncers intervened and escorted the suspect out of the premises.
However, the woman later alleged that the bouncers facilitated the suspect’s escape.
A senior police officer stated, “We have gathered some leads and are working to identify the suspect. The complainant reportedly bit the bouncers during the incident, but no complaint has been filed against her.”
Auto driver found unconscious with head injuries
In a separate incident, an autorickshaw driver, Kushal, was found unconscious with severe head injuries near the Kadapaswamy Mutt in Kempapura Agrahara around 3 am on Wednesday.
The police responded to a passerby’s alert and transported Kushal to a nearby hospital.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Kushal had partied with the person suspected to have inflicted the injury. A fight ensued. The suspect allegedly struck Kushal on the head with a stone before fleeing the spot.
An officer from the KP Agrahara police station confirmed that a case of attempted murder has been registered and a manhunt is underway to apprehend the suspect.
Missing child reunited with parents
Amid the largely peaceful New Year celebrations in Bengaluru on Tuesday, the southeast police reunited a missing two-year-old child with his parents, taking prompt action amid a crowd of nearly one lakh partygoers in Koramangala.
The child, found crying among the revellers, was identified as belonging to street vendor parents. “We quickly circulated the child’s picture on social media, and partygoers helped spread the message among the street vendors,” said a senior officer. Within an hour, the parents were located and reunited with their child.
Tight security measures ensured that New Year celebrations across the city went off without major incidents, police added.
