One of the three laboratory blast victims at the Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has been discharged from Ramaiah Memorial Hospital.

Athulya Uday Kumar (24) had suffered fracture, laceration and penetrating wounds with foreign bodies. He was treated at the hospital and has been directed to visit the hospital again for a follow-up.

Karthik Shenoy (25) is still on the ventilator, he is conscious and responding, but he is on intravenous parenteral nutrition and doctors are planning to start tube feeding. He has suffered maximum injuries during the blast, including facial degloving injury, lacerated wounds on the upper limb, back and lower limb and abrasions all over.

Naresh Kumar (33) is stable and is tolerating tube feeds. Doctors have planned for CT scan of chest and abdomen and also debridement/grafting. He, too, suffered major injuries, including open fracture, penetrating injury on the chest and puncture wounds with a foreign body.
