The Save Bangalore Committee has condemned the proposed moves of the BBMP to hand over lakes, parks, schools, colleges hospitals, road dividers, sky walks, markets, bus stands etc to business houses and other private people in the guise of 'Namma Bangalore, Nanna Koduge' initiative.

Committee Convenor B R Manjunath wondered what was left for BBMP to govern. It is due to neck-deep corruption, failure to plug tax evasion by huge builders and the rich. Several valuable records of BBMP’s misdeeds were burnt by vested interests. It is a fact that buckling to real estate lobby, worthless construction of flyovers, underpasses, road- widening works have been taken, resulting in squandering of public money, he added.

Questioning the need for public private partnership saying it will only escalate costs of every public facility, he has urged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to constitute an inquiry into BBMP’s misdeeds.
