Several areas in Bangalore South went without power on Thursday due to the havoc created by the Wednesday’s thundershowers.

The BBMP control room received around 30 tree fall complaints, most of them from Hanumathanagar, Padmanabhanagar, Hosakerehalli, Katriguppe, Girinagar, Vidyapeeta Circle, Vijayanagar and JP Nagar. The Bescom received 48 complaints on uprooting electricity poles.

Residents in Girinagar and Hanumanthanagar complained that they had no power since Wednesday evening. Movement of traffic was also affected as tree branches were yet to be cleared from roads.

The BBMP officials said that it would take two more days to remove the fallen tree branches. Door-to-door garbage collection was affected in some areas as pouarkarmikas had been deputed for clearing the roads. Bescom officials said that regular power supply would resume by Friday.
