Mulbagal: A large number of people in society are being deprived of their rights due to ignorance of the law. Legal Services Authority has been making honest efforts to spread legal literacy among masses, said principal civil judge A A Shafeer.
Speaking at the National Legal Services Day here, the judge said that illiterate people in rural parts lack legal awareness. Non-governmental organisations should impart legal literacy to such people.
Additional civil judge H P Mohan Kumar said that a healthy society could be built only if there is a harmonious relationship among members of society.
Taluk advocates' association president K Thimmarayappa, secretary P Nataraj and others were present.
