The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) officials claim that it is the residents who are dumping debris in the Metro construction sites.

For example, the work on BMRCL's Reach 4 from National College to Metro Cash and Carry on Kanakapura Road has stopped for over a year, with some finishing works going on inside the stations. But at some places, construction materials and debris still line the roads and medians beneath the tracks.

While residents are peeved over the traffic bottlenecks caused by the debris, slush and dirt especially after rains, officials claim that the construction material and debris do not belong to the Metro. They say it is the local residents who are dumping debris beneath the tracks, but the BMRCL is blamed.

As soon as the works are completed, roads are being readied. Tenders have already been allotted for maintenance and beautification of medians for the whole of Phase I, say BMRCL officials.
