Residents of Vinayakanagar are opposing tree cutting on Old Airport Road for the signal-free corridor project.
According to the report received by the residents, hundreds of trees on Old Airport Road will be chopped. Around 37 trees at Isro junction are already cut.
Opposing the move, residents will organise a human chain on August 13. An online petition on www.thepetitionsite.com (http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/177/672/305/), has already received support from around 3,700 people.
It aims to have 5,000 supporters to the cause.
