PGET counselling: Clash of dates confuses students

Students taking part in the rescheduled counselling for postgraduate dental courses under the Comed-K on Tuesday still have plenty to worry about.

With the High Court ordering the Comed-K to conduct the first round of dental counselling afresh and with the private body keen on challenging the verdict, uncertainty looms. The Comed-K has not yet announced the schedule for the first round of dental counselling. It says it will study the High Court order on Monday before taking a decision.

As things stand now, the Comed-K will conduct the second round of medical counselling on Monday and Tuesday (8 am to 8.30 am). The second round of dental counselling is scheduled for Tuesday (from 8.30 am onwards). But with the first round of dental counselling being nullified by the High Court, the entire schedule has gone haywire.

That, however, is not the only worry. As the RGUHS has scrapped its second round of PG medical counselling and will conduct it afresh on Tuesday, some students are worried about the clash of dates. For instance, round two of the Comed-K medical counselling is to end at 8.30 am on Tuesday.

The same process under the RGUHS will commence at 9 am. Students who have to attend the Comed-K medical counselling on Tuesday morning are worried that they might miss the RGUHS process. Dr Farheen is to attend the last session of the Comed-K process. She also wants to attend the RGUHS event. The time constraint has left her confused. Comed-K Chief Executive A S Srikanth, however, says a suitable decision would be taken by Monday evening.

“Very few students turn up for the last session of medical counselling as hardly any seat would be available then. Still, if seats remain, we will think of a way out so that students are not inconvenienced,” Srikanth told Deccan Herald.

Revised answer keys

The Comed-K has published the revised answer keys for all the versions (A, B, C, and D) of Physics, Mathematics and Biology question papers of its undergraduate entrance test. It received objections to the earlier answer keys for all three subjects, and got them reviewed by experts. There is no change in Chemistry answer keys.

The private body has made provision for re-totaling and verification of test scores.

Clarifications relating to the test scores must reach Comed-K office by Monday in the format given on www.comedk-org, along with a DD for Rs 200 drawn in favour of ‘Comed-K’ payable in Bangalore.
