Bengaluru: Halasuru police on Monday began investigation into alleged sexual assault on a 26-year-old cabin crew by a chartered flight pilot at a hotel in Bengaluru.
A senior police officer said that Begumpet police station in Hyderabad had registered a 'Zero FIR' (an FIR registered irrespective of place of crime) under relevant sections of BNS and the details were shared with Bengaluru City Police on Monday.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the accused pilot allegedly dragged her and kissed in the hotel on November 18. However, we have asked the victim to record her statement in detail with Halasuru police for further investigation. Meanwhile we have collected CCTV footage from the hotel premises to analyse it and action will be taken accordingly.
It may be recalled that two pilots and the victim were scheduled to return to Puttaparthi on November 19 and had checked into the hotel for a stopover. Later, the victim had complained that the pilot took her inside a room on the pretext of smoking and sexually assaulted her.
