Some persons have alleged that a few Central Crime Branch (CCB) officers siphoned off Rs 2 crore cash which was seized during a raid on Rocket Club in Indiranagar on August 8.

A senior police officer said, “The people alleged that the money was seized where a poker game was held. They informed the vernacular media that the CCB has not given an account for Rs 2 crore, which was seized during the raid. The identity of the people, who have made the allegations, cannot be revealed and we have asked them to give a written statement.”
Verification of details

“The issue was taken up with senior police officers and we are verifying the details. It is suspected that an Assistant Commissioner of Police with the CCB has spread the false news, as he was getting money from the club on a regular basis. After the raid was conducted, club owner Santosh stopped paying the ACP. Santosh was questioned and he stated that he does not earn enough from the club,” added the officer.

During the raid, around 31 people were arrested and 180 detained for gambling. Police seized Rs 8.45 lakh cash and transaction tokens valued at Rs 10.55 lakh.
