The programme is hosted by big cat trainer Dave Salmoni, who has been living with lions in Kalahari for a year. He lives in the African bush during the first few weeks and his experience isn’t starting as smoothly as he had hoped.
His bush skills are rusty, and camping smack in the middle of the lion territory, alone, is a huge adjustment from city life. Dave and his crew manage to meet the core pride and discover that these lions are even more hostile than they have expected, especially the dominant female, who Dave names Cleopatra.
