The police said Kumaraswamy on August 21 gave four packets of marijuana, with 100 gram each, to convicts Krishna alias Dandupalya Krishna and Manjunath.

However, after officials came to know about this he went absconding.

He was arrested from Halamadenahalli in Hiriyur taluk on Wednesday.

The police produced Kumaraswamy before the magistrate and took him to custody to ascertain the source of the marijuana and also to know long he was running the racket.
