Bengaluru: Investigating two house burglaries, the Kadugodi police have arrested three men and recovered gold ornaments worth over Rs 14 lakh.

The arrests helped the police solve nine other burglaries. 

In his police complaint, a resident of Kodigehalli stated that on August 30, after returning home from Ganesha puja, he found the front door broken and gold ornaments, including a 50-gram mangalsutra, two bangles and a pair of earrings, stolen from a cupboard. 

Following an investigation, the police arrested Manjunath, 38, from his residence in KR Puram on September 10. The officers recovered 58 grams of gold ornaments, worth Rs 5.8 lakh, from him. 

Manjunath was remanded to judicial custody by the court on September 11. 

In a separate incident, a complainant from Patalamma Layout in Kadugodi reported a burglary on August 26, stating that 27 grams of gold ornaments had been stolen from their home while they were at work.

A team of police officers launched an investigation and arrested Srinivas, 24, on September 16 from Sorahunase. During interrogation, he reportedly confessed to the burglary and also implicated an accomplice, who was arrested the same day in Madhuranagar, Varthur. 

The duo further revealed that they had given the stolen items to a friend. Based on their information, the police recovered a total of 82.5 grams of gold ornaments, worth Rs 8.25 lakh, from the friend's possession on September 17. 

The arrests led to the solving of nine other burglaries, including seven under the Kadugodi police station, and one each under the HAL and Sarjapur police stations. Both suspects were produced before the court on September 17 and remanded to judicial custody.
