A college student hanged himself at his house in Kalkere, Ramamurthy Nagar, on Tuesday.
The victim, Kiran Kumar D, 19, was a second year pre-university student of New Baldwin International School at Budigere. Kumar’s father Raj owns a medical shop at Kalkere, said the police.
Kumar was upset over his poor performance in the recently concluded tests at school. He returned from school, told his mother he had not done well in the tests and went inside a room without even having his lunch.
He hanged himself from a ceiling fan using his mother’s saree, said the police. The incident came to light after his mother entered the room sometime later and saw his body hanging from the ceiling fan.
