Electronics City, Jigani, Hebbagodi and Varthur, alongside southern, southeastern and eastern parts of the city saw moderate rainfall in isolated places for a few minutes followed by gusty winds.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Bengaluru city observatory recorded a rainfall of 0.1 mm till 5.30 pm.

N Puviarasan, head of the meteorological centre in Bengaluru, noted that a trough from north-central Maharashtra to the Gulf of Mannar now runs from northeastern Vidarbha to the Gulf of Mannar across Telangana, Interior Karnataka, Rayalaseema, and Tamil Nadu at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

Due to the influence of this trough, Bengaluru will likely have light to moderate rainfall on Sunday. Puviarasan said that the rainfall would likely continue after April 25.

Puviarasan said that Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Haveri, Gadag, Dharwad, Bagalkot, Kodagu, Mysuru, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Tumakuru and Mandya districts would likely have light to moderate rainfall on Sunday, while pre-monsoon showers would continue in parts of South Interior Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, and Coastal Karnataka.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in Bengaluru for the next three days will likely range between 33 and 22 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Further, the data from the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) indicates that from March 1 to April 19 — showing cumulative pre-monsoon showers — Bengaluru had an overall rainfall of 53.7 mm, which is 60% higher than normal pre-monsoon showers.

In April alone, Bengaluru had an overall rainfall of 34.6 mm, according to the KSNDMC data.
