Saxophonist Kadri Gopalnath will be conferred the Veena Rajarao State Award by Ganakalabhushan Veene Rajarao Smaraka Pratishthana at a function to be held at H N Kalakshetra, National College, Jayanagar in the City, at 5.30 pm on Friday.
Dr S C Sharma, vice chancellor, Tumkur University and vice chairperson of Karnataka State Higher Education Council, will present the award. Music critic Mysore V Subramanya will preside over the function.
