A physical education teacher of a private school at Jalahalli in the City, who was accused of sexually assaulting a girl student for over nine months at his house, has surrendered before a local court.

The police said that Lakshmikanth, a native of Shivamogga, had absconded after he was suspended by the management of the school for sexually abusing a 16-year-old student for over nine months.

He surrendered before the local court and was taken into custody by the Jalahalli police for further questioning.
