According to the police, Shaikh Shamsuddin (35), a lorry owner, had reportedly sexually assaulted the 19-year-old girl who was married to his nephew, at her house in MS Palya.
The victim's husband, who is an auto driver, and other family members had gone to a hospital when the accused committed the offence.
He was arrested on Monday after the victim told the family members. The members then lodged a complaint with the police. Shamsuddin will be produced before the Court on Tuesday.
