The land acquisition resistance committee, which is opposing the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board's (KIADB) move to acquire farmers' land in Channarayapatna hobli in Devanahalli taluk, Bengaluru Rural, also demanded that the state cabinet discuss the Devanahalli land issue as a special subject in the meeting scheduled to be held at Nandi Hills on Wednesday.

"The true picture of the Devanahalli dispute is not clear to most ministers and MLAs. We are appealing to all activists in the state to meet the MLAs and ministers in their respective districts, explain the issue, and persuade them to take a pro-farmer stance," the committee said in a statement.

Rajya Raitha Sangha leader Badagalapura Nagendra expressed hope that the government would take a "pro-farmer" decision, while Noor Sridhar of Karnataka Janashakti warned that the government would be committing a "great betrayal" if it did not take a "pro-farmer" decision.

The committee appealed to all movements and like-minded citizens of Karnataka to support the movement.
