<p>Bengaluru: Farmers and activists protesting the Channarayapatna land acquisition by the KIADB are continuing their indefinite protest until July 4, when Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he would meet with protesting organisations.</p><p>They have started an all-night 'Bhoomi Satyagraha' dharna at Freedom Park until a decision to stop land acquisition is made.</p><p>Inaugurating the protest on Friday, Dalit Sangharsha Samiti leader and senior journalist Indudhar Honnapura said, "This is a struggle to save our land, people, and culture. A new chapter has begun in the Channarayapattana farmers' struggle. "The same Siddaramaiah who stands against farmers today once spoke for farmers. You repeatedly say that you have kept your word; keep this word. Do not stand with corporations and give thousands of acres of farmers' land to profiteers," he added.</p><p>"All movements, labourers, and farmers across Karnataka are joining this struggle from every corner of Karnataka. This is a warning. We believe that you will take a pro-farmer stance in this matter, and we trust you to uphold that belief," he asserted.</p><p>Until July 4, seminars will take place, focusing on issues related to farmers' land and livelihoods. On Saturday, the activists will deliberate about why the Congress government is continuing the land law amendment made by the BJP. On Sunday, they will discuss who the government land policy will serve. The following days, right up to July 3, they will look at Bagair Hukum problem, housing issues, forest policies, and KIADB's, "land mafia".</p><p>In addition to withdrawing the forced land acquisition in Channarayapattana hobli, a permanent solution should be found for the misuse of agricultural land occurring across the state through KIADB, Samyukta Horata Karnataka, a united struggle of Dalit, labor, women's, and farmers' organisations supporting the Channarayapatna farmers, has urged.</p><p>On Wednesday, the united front called for a 'Devanahalli Chalo' protest, which saw the police exerting force on protestors.</p><p>Condemning the atrocities against farmers and the stubborn stance of the Congress government, film actor Prakash Raj, senior journalist and writer Dr Vijayamma, Veerasangayya of the farmers' association, and several progressive thinkers met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and condemned the police brutality against farmers.
