After the Chimney Hills episode, wherein the residents were blocked from using their access road for days by the Air Force Radar Station personnel, citizens from the Modi Garden vicinity staged a protest against the Parachute Regiment for reportedly blocking the access points.

A silent protest was organised by the residents of Modi Garden in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statue on M G Road, who alleged that the Parachute Regiment Training Command (PRTC) had erected two new gates on January 23 along Devraj Urs Road and Sawar Line Road connecting Kavalbyrasandra and Munireddy Palya to their area under the pretext of security for Republic Day and blocked their access points.

The residents said that the protest was organised against harassment by defence personnel of PRTC by closing the public road i.e Devraj Urs Road and Sawer Line Road.
They alleged that the PRTC had violated a Court order which had issued an interim stay on the matter related to the road between the residents and the PRTC. The case was filed in 2005 by the residents of Modi Garden against the PRTC and the Union Government of India, which is currently pending in the court.

BBMP signboards on Devraj Urs Road and Sawer Line Road were being destroyed, they alleged, adding that these were being replaced by PRTC’s own signboards.

The residents claimed that state authorities such as the police, BESCOM, BWSSB or even ambulances were not allowed to enter their vicinity in cases of emergency.
