KPCC vice-president and former Legislative Council Chairman B K Chandrashekar on Wednesday said the State government should revisit the agreements signed with contractors for disposal of garbage in Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike limits.

Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Chandrashekar said while rules for disposal of garbage had been framed way back in 2000, the same were not being followed by contractors. The State government had turned a blind eye to the same, Chandrashekar said.

The contractors have been flouting the rules in every aspect of garbage disposal, he said.
The blatant violation of rules had led to the suspicion  whether the BBMP engineers had colluded with the contractors, he said.
