Continuing the crackdown on encroachment of government land, Bangalore Urban District authorities on Friday demolished many structures and recovered 48 acres and 15 guntas worth Rs 176 crore. 

In Anekal taluk, about 10 acres and 20 guntas of land in the villages of S Medahalli and Sollepura while in Bangalore North taluk, three acres and 13 guntas of land in Nagarur village was recovered. 

In North (Additional) taluk, 20 acres of land in Gadenahalli village at Jala hobli was recovered. 

The authorities of the Bangalore East taluk reclaimed 14 acres and 16 guntas of government land in Nadagoudanahalli. 

The Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore Urban, V Shankar, said the crackdown would intensify in the coming days and the encroachers would be dealt with an iron hand. DH News Service
