More than Rs 80 lakh worth of properties recovered by the City police, were on display.

City Police Commissioner Shankar Bidari, while showering praises on his subordinates, announced rewards for cracking various cases of thefts, robbery, chain-snatching and murder. “The maximum number of arrests were made from the North Division, where 42 persons, involved in 43 cases of robbery, burglary, thefts, cheating and chain-snatching, were nabbed by a police team under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner of Police (North Division) Syed Ulfat Hussain,”  Bidari said.

Infact, many officers termed it a send-off party to Hussain as he got promoted as DIG two days back and is awaiting movement order.

24/7 control room

The Bangalore City police has started a 24/7 control room at the COD Head Quarters, Bangalore. According to a press release, public can call 2294 2444 and pass on information pertaining to crime and criminals.  Any relevant information with regards to the absconding and cases being handled by the COD can also be passed on to the Control Room.

The DIG, COD, Training Special Units and Economic Offences has stated in the press release that identities of the informants would be kept secret.
