“We will write to the government and private schools to set three dates convenient for them. Depending on the dates, we will make a schedule and start the programme from June 1,” he said.

Two batches of 100 students each will be invited to the park in the morning and evening. One half of the batch will view videos on water conservation and RWH at the auditorium and the other half will tour the park and see various models for preventing water wastage.

Fridays will be dedicated for residents’ welfare associations and professionals to interact with RWH experts. The experts will provide free technical, design and cost estimation support to people on RWH. This will start from April 22.

The Board will continue training contractors, architects, plumbers and residents on installing RWH and a batch of 20 will start training from April 25. In the past one year, 1,155 people were trained at IISc and now, the training will be taken up at the park.

A help desk (helpline number 26653666) set up at the theme park will operate from 10 am to 5.30 pm. The Board also intends to start cultural programmes on the theme of water with the help of the Department of Kannada and Culture.

Ramamurthy said the BWSSB had discussion with State-level bankers’ committee to provide soft loans for RWH. Currently, Syndicate Bank has come forward to provide loans with 60 monthly installments at 11.5 per cent interest. “The interest rate is on the higher side. So, we are talking to them to reduce it and bring it on par with the rates for solar panels at six per cent,” he said.
