Salesman killed in collision

 A 27-year-old sales representative was killed on the spot and his uncle grievously injured when the two-wheeler he was riding collided head-on with a speeding tractor in front of CAR quarters on Tuesday.

The accident occurred when Suresh, a resident of Mahalakshmi Layout, was on his way to Kalasipalya to drop his uncle, Basavaraj. Suresh died instantaneously and Basavaraj was rushed to Victoria Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor fled the spot abandoning the vehicle. The central traffic police have registered a case.


Held for theft

Bangalore, dhns:  The sleuths of the Organised Crime Wing of Central Crime Branch have arrested two persons who were trying to sell Gold Potassium Cyanide (GPC), an expensive chemical, stolen from a chemical factory.
According to police, the arrested - Manjunath and Sumith - were working with Interplex Electronics India Private Limited, a chemical factory located in the Electronics City. The two had stolen the chemical from the factory and were trying to sell it in Chamarajpet.
Police have recovered 1.075 kilo of GPC said to be worth about Rs 21 lakh and four cellphones from the arrested. Police said Gold Potassium Cyanide is a chemical used in electroplating and contains 68 per cent gold.
