Authorities have planned an artificial waterfall at the Sankey Tank in West Bengaluru, similar to the one at the Lalbagh Botanical Gardens.

Deputy Chief Minister Dr C N Ashwath Narayan inspected the site for the waterfall while visiting the tank premises.

Right now, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has been carrying out renovation work all around Sankey Tank.

Speaking about the project, Narayan said: “The waterfall will be an addition to the park and will come up near the swimming pool separated by a wall.”

Besides the waterfall, aerators will also be fixed to ensure clean water in the tank. The Deputy Chief Minister said the waterfall will add beauty to the garden, besides enhancing the traditional appearance of Malleswaram.

To cost Rs 1.5 cr: DyCM

“The entire project will probably cost Rs 1.5 crore,” he added.

The waterfall will be 12 to 15 feet high and 100 feet wide.

BBMP sources told DH that the project is still in the initial stages and neither the technology nor the design has been finalised as of now.
